My name is Maria and I was diagnosed with non hodgkin’s lymphoma on the 23rd January 2018 ( my sons 19th birthday ).
My world was completely shattered. After 6 long months of chemo, losing hair. (Wearing a wig in that pic ) I went into remission in August. So began to start living again. I had regular visits with my consultant. I went to an appointment on January 23rd 2019 to be told I was still getting positive scans so I had to have yet another operation. Life was on hold yet again.
I met Linda at a running club (wibbly wobbly wonder) presenting her with a cheque they had raised for the center. I called in the day after and have never met such an amazing group of people. The support they give is unbelievable. I couldn’t have gotten where I am without them – my fellow warriors and most importantly amazing family who are still supporting me now. I have returned to work and started getting on with life again. Thank you to the CCCC and my amazing fellow warriors for all the support. ??????
