A Summer’s Evening on the Quad
We are very lucky to have the support of UCC over the years. In July every year, they hold “A Summer’s Evening on the Quad”. Each year, five charities are selected to be Charity Partners of this event. In 2019, we were one of the selected charities and it was a hugely successful event. I’m sure the signing along with the wonderful Tommy Fleming could be heard all over the city!
Our service users, many of them our Cancer Warriors, attended the event and are still speaking about the evening to this day! As well as raising much need funds to help maintain the centre, it was a social evening which helped to form and strengthen friendships and offer an opportunity to our clients who often retreat into themselves while undergoing treatment or caring for a loved one, to start rebuilding their lives with people who have been through a similar experience.
